Saguaro National Park is in two separate sections, one east of Tucson, the other west of Tucson. We had spent some time in 'West' in 2003, our first visit to this area. This year we went to 'East' first and enjoyed it greatly.
Next day (Thursday) we went 'West' and included a visit to the Arizona Desert Museum, which is right next door. It was warm (23C), after frost overnight, without a cloud in sight.
This first group of photos is from 'Saguaro East'. There's a lot of cactus that not Saguaro in this park ... including a just-about-to-bloom Ocotillo and a mutant 'Hammer-head' (my word, I think the resource person called it a 'cistant') Saguaro.
This group is from Saguaro West and the Arizona Desert Museum ... a marvellous place ... not just for what you can see but for their volunteers/docents who can teach you so much, each docent with an area of real expertise, like the lovely lady with the owl.
