We did not expect to see much 'Fall Colour' on the trip. We expected to be early ... but doing a whale watch off Grand Manan would compensate for that. The whale watch did not happen for weather and scheduling reasons ... but in New Hampshire we did find great Fall Colour on Friday, September 24.
We drove across the Kancamagus Road, about 50 Km's, in mid-70's weather and found lots of Fall Colour! The expected 2 hour drive took over 4 hours! This drive has now become a State Park ... with a better road, some services and organized look-outs. I liked it better 15 years ago, lousy road ... but do as you choose!
By the time we got to Vermont it was 82F, heat haze had developed and the photography potential diminished ... but New Hampshire had saved the day.
