Our plan was that the 'trip home' from Grand Manan would have its own highlights. In Maine we wanted to see the 'Blueberry Barrens' ... areas where wild blueberries are farmed on land that will grow little else. We thought we might be early for great colour as the blueberry plants changed in Autumn. We were right. There was some colour, but not a lot, and the 'fields' were usually flat with little contour. So what you see is what we saw ... but interesting.
We also wanted to photograph some lighthouses, and we got two. And June wanted to shop in Freeport (LL Bean!) and she had a full day to so do. We had good accommodation and fine dinners so Maine was a success. Some photos are below.
