We had not driven west from Stovepipe Wells in our prior trips to Death Valley. This time we did ... up and over the Panamint Range, across the flat Panamint Valley and then up into the Inyo Range to the Father Crawley Lookout. (They call the drive to the lookout a road, I'd question that!)
We stopped frequently to photograph and were especially surprised by the ditch full of water beside the road as we crossed the valley. The water was a green/yellow ... a remnant of the recent rains.
