Friday, April 4, and we are in California. Barely.
We drove South from Gold Beach, Oregon today
and are now in Crescent City California for a couple of days. The forecast was for rain showers but we managed to get a long walk to the Lady Bird Johnson Grove in the Redwood Forest.
Wow! BIG TREES! Also really tough photography.
Capture was very blue in the forest and we had to do a lot of work after capture.
The very-mixed-quality images are below.
We were unhappy with image quality on Friday but Saturday was a new day. The light was very even due to overcast (and a little rain) ... ideal light for shooting in the forest. As well, we had learned our lessons and handled the exposures much better. So we are much happier with the images below. We were in Jedediah Smith State Park and it took us about 3 hours to drive about 5 miles due to the frequent stops. We think the photographs tell the story of the California Redwoods.
